Bruce
from the band, Britney's Krack, was kind enough to e-mail us and
ask us to deal a little review for his band a few weeks. He even
ended up sending me the band's latest CD entitled "Back In
Krack."
The best
way I can describe this band is that they are a punk/rock (not punk
rock) band that covers pop tunes. The songs that they cover have
their own flare. In fact, the first time I let Giggles hear them,
he commented that while the band was doing cover songs, they kind
of made them their own.
We (Roachito,
Giggles, and myself) came up with a couple of conclusions about
this band. The first of which is that to really enjoy them, you
have to have some sort of knowledge of pop music. They cover songs
from artists such as Ricky Martin, Britney Spears, and Christina
Aguilera. If you know the original songs, it sort of makes you understand
what Britney's Krack is doing a little bit better.
Secondly,
we decided this wouldn't be one of those kind of bands that we would
rush out to buy the CD and listen to everyday. This isn't saying
that the music is bad though. While I wouldn't listen to them everyday,
they are one of those kind of bands that would probably be a blast
to see live in a bar or club, especially if you know the original
songs. It's too bad they are way up in Canada and us YMR guys are
here down in Sunny So Cal.
I think
the bottom line with Britney's Krack is that they sound like they
are having fun with what they are doing. Isn't that really what
music is supposed to be about anyway?
Since
these here temple reviews are pointing people in a direction to
hear music that they wouldn't otherwise, I suggest visiting their
website and downloading the songs they have available to download.
You might end up digging them.
